Georgia NOW endorses Stacey Abrams for governor & Sarah RIGGS Amico for lt. governor

August 14, 2018, Atlanta, GA - The Georgia chapter of the National Organization for Women (Georgia NOW) today announced the endorsements of Stacey Abrams for Governor and Sarah Riggs Amico for Lt. Governor.
“Now more than ever, women and girls across the state of Georgia need strong leaders at the Capitol who will work to protect their equal rights,” said Allison Stouffer Kopp, Georgia NOW president. “Both candidates have demonstrated they are tireless champions for Georgia’s families, economic opportunity, and women’s and civil rights. Our chapter is so proud to stand by them.”
Georgia NOW is a grassroots arm of the National Organization for Women, headquartered in Washington, D.C. The state chapter includes over 1,000 members who support policies that advance the equal rights of all women and girls in Georgia.
“I am honored to have the support of Georgia NOW. As governor, I will put forth bold policies to help ensure the economic security of women and their families,” said Stacey Abrams. “With equal pay for equal work, access to health care, and child care affordability, every Georgia woman will have the freedom and opportunity to thrive.”
Leading up to Election Day, Georgia NOW is committed to mobilizing voters to the polls and partnering with other civil rights and women’s advocacy groups across the state of Georgia.
